Prince William condemns attack

Prince William, 38, is horrified and sad: The "Virunga National Park" in the Democratic Republic of the Congo has lost six of its employees. The park rangers were attacked and killed by an armed militia while they were working. As President of United for Wildlife, which campaigns against illegal animal trafficking, Prince William has worked with the director of the national park and knows that rangers are repeatedly victims of poachers. The Telegraph newspaper website quotes the Royal as saying:

"The horrific attack on staff in Virunga National Park is heinous and I condemn the actions of those responsible in the strongest possible terms. Rangers who work tirelessly to protect both the national park and the neighboring communities should be honored, not attacked. They should never be attacked are in a position where their lives are at stake. "
