Royals: Princess Leonor has an important week ahead

There are a number of appointments for the eldest daughter of the Spanish royal couple. The motto: Practice early who will one day be Queen of Spain!

Princess Leonor is in the spotlight

Over the past few months, King Felipe, 52, and Queen Letizia, 48, have repeatedly taken their daughters Princess Leonor, 14, and Princess Sofia, 13, to public appearances. This week will be busy for the girls; especially for Leonor. The ceremony for the Spanish National Day on October 12th in the Royal Palace in Madrid marked the beginning. Among other things, the princesses watched a military parade – only a small one because of the corona virus.

Together with Felipe, Letizia and Sofia, Leonor will travel to their Principality of Asturias on October 15th. In the capital of the region, Oviedo, the royal family attends an event in connection with the award of the "Princess of Asturias Awards". On October 16, Leonor welcomes the presidents of the jury, the members of the board of trustees of the Princess of Asturias Foundation and this year's winners to the "Hotel de la Reconquista" in Oviedo. The actual award ceremony will take place at 6.30 p.m., during which Leonor will give a speech for the second time. On October 17th, the princess visits the village of Somao in the municipality of Pravia, also in Asturias. A busy schedule! At the end of the month there is an important, private day for Leonor: On October 31, she will be 15 years old.
