RTL / ntv trend barometer
Those who are not vaccinated worry less

A quarter of Germans are currently more afraid than a few weeks ago of being infected with corona. This is the result of a Forsa survey. It is noticeable that this concern is less among the unvaccinated.

Against the background of increasing numbers of corona infections, one in four Germans is more worried than a few weeks ago about infecting themselves with the corona virus. In response to a corresponding question for the RTL / ntv trend barometer, 24 percent said they were more worried. 11 percent are less worried, 65 percent say the extent of their concerns has not changed.

The numbers are similar in the east and west of Germany; in the east, 23 percent say they are more worried, 12 percent are less worried. In the west it is 24 to 10 percent. The difference between women and men is somewhat clearer. 23 percent of men and 25 percent of women are more worried, 14 percent of men and 7 percent of women are less worried. The concern remains unchanged for 63 percent of men and 67 percent of women.

Unvaccinated people in particular say that they are less worried or less worried. Of them, 21 percent say that they have fewer worries about a possible corona infection compared to a few weeks ago. Only 2 percent of the unvaccinated are currently more worried, with 77 percent the concern remains unchanged.

Among those vaccinated, 26 percent are more worried and 10 percent are less worried. 64 percent say the level of their concern remains unchanged.

Those who have been vaccinated are less likely to face restrictions than those who have not been vaccinated

Despite statements to the contrary by politicians, 40 percent of Germans believe that there will be restrictions again like in winter 2020/21. A majority of 56 percent do not believe that.

Vaccinated people believe less in restrictions than unvaccinated people: 40 percent of the vaccinated and 49 percent of the unvaccinated expect corona measures like last winter. 58 percent of the vaccinated and 46 percent of the unvaccinated believe that there will be no repetition of such restrictions.

The under 30-year-olds and AfD supporters believe that there will be renewed restrictions.

The majority of those vaccinated want to be boosted

Two thirds (69 percent) of those fully vaccinated feel sufficiently informed whether a booster vaccination against Corona makes sense for them personally. A third (31 percent) of those fully vaccinated – especially those under 45 years of age – feel that they are not adequately informed.

Three quarters of those fully vaccinated intend to have a booster vaccination (70 percent) or have already received one (5 percent). Around every fifth person who is fully vaccinated (18 percent) does not want to have a booster vaccination. 7 percent are still unsure about this (“don’t know”).

The data was collected by the market and opinion research institute Forsa on behalf of RTL Germany from November 2nd to 3rd, 2021. Database: 1001 respondents. Statistical error tolerance: +/- 3 percentage points.
