Ruby O. Fee doesn't let Corona get her down: "I stay optimistic and try to focus on the little things."

Everything can only get better in 2021! Ruby O. Fee (25) agrees. The actress can soon be seen in the new Netflix film "Army of the Dead" at the side of her partner Matthias Schweighöfer (39). Like many of her fellow actors, Fee also wants to start in front of the camera again this year. The 25-year-old has already planned a lot for the new year, as she explains in an interview. Together with Coca-Cola, under the motto "Open to the new", she encourages others to put their personal ideas and plans for the future into practice.

What are your upcoming projects?

Ruby O. Fee: I finished a film project at the end of 2020 and I was very lucky to be able to work during the pandemic. The requirements for this were very strict and a new experience. There are more exciting projects to come in 2021, but unfortunately I can't talk about them yet. My latest project is currently the "Open to the New" campaign, in which I work with Coca-Cola to encourage people to put their personal ideas and plans for the future into practice. Because even with small deeds, we can achieve great things together.

What are you looking forward to in 2021?

Ruby O. Fee: Especially for the summer! I have traveled a lot in the past few years, but unfortunately that has not been the case since last year. So I'm all the more looking forward to the sun and beautiful weather. I remain optimistic and try to focus on the little things that make the current situation more positive.

Many would like to tick off in 2020. What do you take with you from last year?

Ruby O. Fee: 2020 was a new experience for all of us. At first you didn't know exactly what to expect. On the whole, I tried to make the most of it. I can even say that I have calmed down a bit. I have become much more aware of some things that I did not even think about in the normal everyday stress.

Some stars were particularly creative. Among other things, they took part in Matthias Schweighöfer's call under the hashtag #WeActForGood. What other ideas did you get excited about?

Ruby O. Fee: The #WeActForGood campaign really touched me. We have drawn attention to the poverty in which disadvantaged children have to grow up and donated the money raised to Die Arche. Knowing that you can do something good with your job, acting, and draw attention to important things, it was a great feeling. That also spurred me on to become active myself. As part of the Coke campaign, I decided to implement my own social project and thereby support a fundraising campaign by the Tafel.

We have currently been in the second lockdown for many weeks. What does that do to you, what does your "new normal" look like?

Ruby O. Fee: As I said, I calmed down a bit and let my creativity run free again. I really enjoy painting, doing my sports exercises on my yoga mat, trying out new recipes and meditating from time to time. In relation to everyday work, there are online castings and many video calls instead of face-to-face. But you also get used to it.

How does a day look like for you at the moment?

Ruby O. Fee: Everyday life has become quieter but not necessarily more boring. I try to do something every day that is good for me and my body. For me it can be a good meal, a good book, a walk in the fresh air, exercise, ice bathing to strengthen the immune system, or the video call with my best friends. The important thing is that we all hold out together so that we can soon give each other a smile that is not hidden behind a mask.
