Rugby Bernard Laporte and Mohed Altrad judged in September


French rugby boss Bernard Laporte and businessman Mohed Altrad, owner of the Montpellier club, will be tried in Paris from September 7 to 22 for suspicion of favoritism, the National Financial Prosecutor’s Office (PNF) said on Thursday, confirming information from Midi Olympique.

According to the PNF, MM. Laporte and Altrad will be judged in particular for “influence peddling”, “corruption” and “abuse of social property”, in this investigation which focused on a sponsorship contract for the jersey of the XV of France and an image contract between the two men. The number 2 of the French Rugby Federation, Serge Simon, will also be judged.
