After a nice bronze medal at the Vancouver Sevens rugby tournament, the Los Angeles tournament continues for the Blues this Sunday. One thing is certain, the French team can count on the support of many supporters: “Dupontmania” has no borders.

This Sunday, the French sevens rugby team qualified for the semi-final of the Los Angeles tournament after its convincing victory against the United States (14-0). Antoine Dupont, recently arrived in the discipline, even signed a good test in front of many French supporters, even 9,000 km from France. In question, a “Dupontmania” which has no borders.

“Antoine, we love you”

In this very colorful stadium in Los Angeles, the atmosphere is supercharged. Fijians in floral shirts rub shoulders with American cowboys and a Samoan in a tutu. But Blues supporters also showed up in force to support their team and its star player. Bruni, passionate about rugby, blue jersey and beret firmly screwed on his head, is delighted with the arrival of Dupont in this discipline.

“It’s great to see a player like that who is humble, who continues to learn, who questions himself every day. So it’s nice and it shines a light on rugby sevens.” he explains.

Lou, 10 years old, holds up a sign with the words: Antoine, we love you. “I think he’s super strong and I would like to have his socks,” confides the young boy. The Americans discovered Antoine Dupont by being eliminated by France in the quarter-final. But they remain good players. “It’s lots of fun, it’s great.”
