Rugby World Cup: the official store opens its doors on the Place de la Concorde

On the occasion of the Rugby World Cup in France, which will take place from September 8 to October 28, an official 1,000m² store opened its doors on Tuesday August 22, at Place de la Concorde. There were a lot of people when it opened, some waited for three hours in front of the shop under the sun. The first 100 customers could even win tickets for the opening match which will see the Blues face New Zealand.

Winning tickets for the first customers

“I’m very moved, I’m so happy. With my daughter, we thank you. Frankly, I still don’t believe it. I’ll wait to get the tickets, because frankly, I still don’t believe it. We thought we could no longer go there, we were very sad and there, frankly, the grail”, declared Sandrine at the microphone of Europe 1. The latter even had tears in her eyes at the checkout when she scratched her winning ticket. Winners are rare, but all the customers rushed to the shelves.

About the prices, you will have to pay 20 euros for a cap, 35 euros for a rugby ball and 100 € for a jersey of the XV of France. “I bought a t-shirt for my son, as well as a water bottle and for me, I made myself the gift of the France team jersey. It is magnificent, just a little star is missing above of the rooster. It will be added in a few weeks”, she predicts.

A taste of the competition

For all these supporters, these are first sensations, a taste of the competition. “It’s a strong symbol. We really feel like it’s our turn. The World Cup, it’s here. France will welcome the world. We’re going to prepare an exceptional popular festival, we’re going to offer a link social and we are going to offer great moments of sporting emotion”, declared at the microphone of Europe 1, Jacques Rivoal, president of the organizing committee of the World Cup. And to wait before kick-off, fans were even able to approach the World Cup trophy displayed in a corner of the store. Hoping that the Blues raise it in a few weeks.
