Philippe Poupon screws his cap onto the curls that have always formed a crown on his head. From the coasts of Finistère, his refuge on land, the winner of the Route du rhum 1986 observes the sea in the distance. He who has never been very talkative knows that, this year, by starting in Saint-Malo, he not only has one race to do and the Atlantic to cross. But first, a story to tell. At 67, he must pursue the legend of Florence Arthaud, the “Little Bride of the Atlantic”the one that the French loved so much, winner of the 1990 edition, who disappeared seven years ago in a helicopter accident, during the filming of a reality TV episode in Argentina.
