Despite all the worries about her sick father Bruce Willis: Rumer Willis is looking positively into the future – especially because she will become a mother in 2023.

Rumer Willis (35) looks back on an “incredibly dynamic” year. In an emotional Instagram post, she listed her personal milestones in 2023, when she became a mother for the first time. She also mentioned her sick father Bruce Willis (68) in her long statement.

The focus was on the birth of her daughter in 2023

On her Instagram page Rumer Willis wrote that she made sure to spend plenty of time with her family throughout the year after her famous father was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in February. “I’m finding my way back to myself… The last year was incredibly dynamic, I grew a human, gave birth at home (without drugs) with my family,” she said in a few selfies. The year marked “a new relationship during pregnancy and postpartum” and gave her the opportunity to get to know “the little love of my life, Lou.” She had her now eight-month-old daughter Louetta Isley with her partner Derek Richard Thomas.

Willis highlighted “precious, love-filled moments” with her loved ones. She “wrote lullabies with my daughter’s father, shared moments of wonder at the little being who chose us, spent precious, love-filled moments with my Daddio and learned from my mom.” She further recalled that she celebrated her first Mother’s Day in 2023 and found a strength within herself “that I didn’t know existed, watching my daughter grow before my eyes.”

She’s also celebrating being sober for seven years

She has become softer in the past year. “I’m an honest, authentic version of myself, healed my trauma so I wouldn’t pass it on to my daughter, celebrated 7 years of sobriety and showed that I’m not a midget, hehe,” Willis added of her personal growth. She now feels “more beautiful and comfortable” in her skin than ever before.

Given these experiences, the eldest of the five Willis daughters looks to the future: “I don’t know what next year will bring, but I can’t wait to see what comes next.”
