Between the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening and The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD (available from €34.85 per Fnac), nintendo has already allowed us to relive great adventures on Switch. As gamers eagerly await the unreleased sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wildnot expected before spring 2023, two more portages may be on the way.
Do you remember the rumor that The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker and The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess, the GameCube classics already ported to Wii U, were going to land on Switch? It reappears this summer via the inevitable Jeffrey Grubb and his sidekick Mike Minotti during the last issue of the podcast of Giant Bomb. They are indeed certain, thanks to their sources, thata Nintendo Direct will be held in September 2022, and that the 2 games will be confirmed for the platform on this occasion.
“To be clear guys, the one thing that we are very, very sure of being announced during this Direct is the Wind Waker and Twilight Princess ports for Switch,” Minotti said.
“Yeah, I think there will be a lot of Zelda stuff to this thing,” adds Grubb. “I think it will be like an avalanche of Zelda for Nintendo. »
“100% there is a Nintendo Direct in September, it’s as simple as that. There is still some uncertainty as to whether it will be a [Direct] general, maybe a Mini, there was talk of it being a Partner Direct” answers Minotti.
Grubb adds, “If they’re going to have Zelda stuff there, it’s not a Partner Direct, and those are the things we’ve heard.” The games that were nominated were the Twilight Princess and Wind Waker HD ports on the Switch. »
They’re less sure, but the show could be broadcast the week of September 12, and potentially also contain the Metroid Prime remake announcement. We should therefore be fixed in the days to come, and if a Nintendo Direct is well confirmed, the hype around the portages will quickly increase…
