RUMOR: Call of Duty, finally a new full game in the Modern Warfare universe in 2023, its release date already known

The future of the franchise is currently being played out behind the scenes, as the eventual exclusivity Xbox of the license is debated and slows down the purchase ofActivision by Microsoft. The publisher, however, continues to prepare the future of the series as if nothing had happened, and according to rumors from the corridors, there should not be a new episode in 2023, while Trearch would develop a project for 2024, and that several studios would look into paid single and multiplayer expansions for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II.

Eventually, plans would have changed. According to new rumours, reported by Insider Gaming and validated by Jason Schreier of Bloombergthe extension projects would have been transformed into a new premium episode, complete and stand-aloneeven if his universe would be linked to that of Modern Warfare II. It is Sledgehammer Games who would lead the development, as always with teams from many studiosActivision to support it. And he would suggest a campaign and maps Multiplayermany of which could be remakes of maps already known.

The official title is not known (Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III ?), but the release date would already be set for November 10, 2023 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, PS5 and Xbox Series X | S. Before that, a beta exclusive to playstation would take place from October 6-10, followed by a beta on all platforms from October 12-16, and early access to the campaign would be offered with pre-orders from November 2. The plan seems well oiled, and it would be the first time that a story has continued with 2 paid games from one year to the next.

If true, the game will most likely have content related to Warzone 2.0 during its year of operation, it remains to be seen if it will be sold at full capacity, and if it will be possible to maintain its progress acquired in Multiplayer In Modern Warfare II (available from €64.99 per Fnac).
