Ubisoft and its games are all the talk at the moment, particularly with regard to the next episode of the publisher’s flagship license, Assassin’s Creed Shadowsofficially postponed to February 14, 2025 and which could benefit from a co-op mode. However, it is far from being the only project in development in this universe. We took stock at the beginning of the year on the rumors linked to Assassin’s Creed Infinitywhich should ultimately be called the Animus Hubwith many different gaming experiences planned in the coming years. Among them, a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagwhich immersed us in the world of piracy in the Caribbean at the beginning of the 18th century. Although it is still not official, Yves Guillemot has nevertheless declared that remakes are planned. This episode has just made headlines again with quite surprising news, which should delight the players who are waiting for it.
This project Obsidian developed at Ubisoft Singapore was first talked about in the summer of 2023 and Kotaku was then talking about a game in early development. So we weren’t expecting it for a few years, but Tom Henderson reports from its sources that this Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake was scheduled for around November 2025 before the postponement of Shadows ! Yes, this may seem surprising, even though we already have a solid base with the original game, still playable on the current generation by the way. In addition to documentation surrounding the game, he could also have seen gameplay showing Edward Kenway sailing his ship, turning on the improved version of theAnvil Engine. It remains to be seen whether it will ultimately not be released before 2026, giving developers more time to refine it.
Its release should therefore have gone hand in hand with the multiplayer project Invictus which is very official, to which we will return since it has also been the subject of rumors. In passing, mention is made ofAssassin’s Creed Jade, which could see the light of day in the second quarter of 2025 (between April 1 and June 30), i.e. at the start of the next fiscal yearUbisoft.
If you’ve never played Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flagwhich celebrated its 10th anniversary last year all the same, it is sold €22.51 in box on Amazon.
