RUMOR on Assassin’s Creed Codename Red: its story would transport us to the future

If Assassin’s Creed Mirage marked a return to basics on many levels for the license ofUbisoftit also a priori marks the end of an era, since all the next games will be brought together within the hub Infinity. And this may not be the only upheaval for the saga. Indeed, we recently reported to you the discovery of what could have constituted a secret ending to Mirage via unused files which were unearthed and which would have teased the future of this franchise. Strangely, it is Assassin’s Creed Codename Hexe under his code name Neo which was concerned, with two characters speaking in particular of a “Great Shift”, implying that their time would be a very distant future. Well, it seems that the intentions of the creative teams ofUbisoft really go in this direction.

Indeed, Tom Henderson via his site InsiderGamingto whom we owe many rumors about the license and who was right more than once, states that he was able to discuss this audio with his sources and learned that the “modern day”the period serving as modern times for the narrative with a character using the Animus to delve into the genetic memories of the historical protagonist(s) would be from Assassin’s Creed Codename Red moved to the future. From the first game released in 2007 until Assassin’s Creed IIIthe end of the world narrative with Desmond Miles was located in 2012, forcing teams toUbisoft to release the different games on time. Since then, each episode takes place during the year of its release, which means that Valhalla even made reference to COVID-19, so as to pretend the events were in our reality. It must be admitted that this is not the best idea that the screenwriters had and shaking everything up to move this frame of reference into the future would therefore be a good thing from a creative point of view.

So, Assassin’s Creed Codename Red would have significant sections of its story during the modern period that would take place in the late 21st century, during the decade 2090-2099. As a player, we would thus be dealing with a whole cast of new characters on the side ofAbstergo Industries and this story would be told throughInfinity since the hub will centralize this plot instead of the game in question, although how it works is totally unclear at the moment.
