The last few months have been rich for Eidos Montrealbetween the output of Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy (available from €44.10 on Amazon.co.uk) and the takeover of the Western studios of Square-Enix by Embrace Group. We do not know what awaits him for the future, but many logically hope for the return of his flagship license, Deus Ex.
Jeff Grubb, insider recognized, thus declared in his last podcast that he had heard thatEmbrace Group was very interested in the idea of developing a new Deus Ex by Eidos Montreal. If so, it would only be an idea for the distant future, according to Jason Schreier, journalist for Bloomberg from almost infallible sources. He said on ResetErain reaction to the words of Jeffrey Grubb, that Eidos Montreal was currently mainly working on a new license, and that if new Deus Ex there is, it would not be before “a very, very long time”.
Keep your expectations under control. The game most in development at Eidos Montreal right now is a new license. If they release a new Deus Ex, it won’t be for a very, very long time.
It’s hard to know where the development of the next project is at, but fans of the studio’s productions will surely be curious to find out in any case. And after that, Embrace will he put money on the table for a Deus Ex 4 ? Case to follow!
