RUMOR on Quake II (Enhanced): a reveal date and first details on the Remastered version

A few weeks ago, a certain Quake II Remastered appeared in the South Korean video game classification body, suggesting thatidSoftware was going to offer a remastering of the FPS from 1997 in line with Quake (Enhanced). This update to the 1996 shooter classic brought up to 4K resolution in 16:9, reworked models and lights, anti-aliasing, depth of field and other technical new features to the occasion of the QuakeCon 2021.

So, when will the formalization of a similar treatment for its sequel? If we trust this good old billbil kunwhich makes these revelations exclusively for Dealabs, Quake II (Enhanced) is expected to be announced at the QuakeCon 2023, which will take place between August 10 and 13 in Grapevine, Texas. The assessment documentESRB must indeed be made public on the 11th, so we can hope for a curtain raiser and why not a release in stride from the 10th. The calendar of the event is not yet known, but an opening conference could effect take place this Thursday.

billbil kun specifies that the game will be available on PC, via an update of the current client, but also on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X|S and Switchunder the simple name of Quake II.
