RUMOR on the Meta Quest Pro: a planned release in October

It’s in the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience that Mark Zuckerberg revealed (between the lines) a possible release of the helmet next October. As a reminder, the Project Cambria or MetaQuest Pro is intended, as its name suggests, for professionals. It will be sold at a higher price and is not intended to replace our Meta Quest 2.

Joe Rogan got to try out the new helmet before the interviewdescribing a demo with an alien in front of him:

When I moved my mouth, he moved his mouth. When I moved my eyes left and right, he followed my eyes. When I expressed my anger, he did the same. It’s incredible.

Its eye and face tracking description leaves little doubt as to the type of headset being used.especially when it was planned and announced (during the Connect 2021) to be released this year. Last July, a data miner had discovered the product name “Quest Pro” in the iOS application ofOculusa name Mark Zuckerberg also used in an interview CNET Last year.

the Quest Pro seems to have a more balanced design than the Quest 2with a thinner visor. Meta confirmed that he would use contact lenses pancakes, which support smaller screens with a tighter gap between panels and lenses. The company also indicated thatit would have much higher resolution cameras, with color pass and a depth sensor for mixed reality, as well as an integrated eye and face tracking systems to animate avatars in experiences dedicated to teleworking.

In April, a prominent supply chain analyst has claimed that the headset will feature two 2160×2160 Mini-LED LCD displayscompared to less than 1832×1920 pixels per eye for ordinary LCD screens of the Quest 2. SDK import logs suggest it will come with 12GB of RAMagainst 6 GB for the Quest 2.

Other important information, the cambria may use the content Quest existingusers of HQ will appreciate. Mark Zuckerberg told Joe Rogan that Meta would share more details when Connect 2022although the date of this event has not yet been announced.

If you haven’t taken the plunge yet, you can treat yourself to a Oculus Quest 2 at the house of Bakerthe Fnac, Darty or Amazon for €449.99. You can also find good PCs for gamers there.
