RUMOR on the Nintendo Switch 2: a new kind of Joy-Con?

Nintendo has not yet formalized the console that will replace its Switch, but the rumors are becoming more and more insistent. It’s last day, it’s the prop builder Mobopad who revealed on the social network Bilibili very interesting information on the Switch 2/Pro controllers, provided they are correct.

According to the manufacturer, the Switch 2 would once again have Joy-Con, detachable controllers like on the previous hybrid console. Nothing new, the Switch 2 should be a simple evolution of the current Switch, but Mobopad affirm that these new Joy-Con would be magnetic, making older models incompatible unless connected via Bluetooth. These controllers would be equipped with metal SL and SR buttons on the edge. In back, in addition to the buttons ZL And ZRwe should have two new buttons. The key HOME would also overlook a new button of unknown utility.

Moreover, the Switch 2 would be backwards compatible with the games of the first Switch, also using cartridges, but it would not be possible to insert the Switch 2 cartridges into the Switch. Like in the days of the Game Boy Advance, which could play Game Boy games, but not the other way around. Finally, the foot on the back of the Switch 2 would be much larger than that of the current console, Nintendo would have taken the concept of the foot of the Switch OLED, which covers almost the entire width of the console, for better stability. For the screen, Mobopad also claims that it would be an 8-inch LCD panel with a 1080p resolution, while the dock would allow 4K to be displayed on a television using the USB-C port.

Of course, Nintendo did not comment on these rumors, nor even formalized any console to succeed the Switch. This new machine could be released at the beginning of 2025, be patient. Until then, you can find the Switch OLED Mario Edition (Red) from €310.95 on Amazon, Cdiscount And Fnac.
