RUMOR: Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have a game-as-a-service approach with replayable levels and a Battle Pass

We’ve been waiting for years now to get our hands on Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice Leaguethe new share security of Rocksteady playable solo or cooperatively with harley quinn, Captain Boomerang, Deadshot and King Shark. The only trailer with gameplay to date had unveiled a gameplay rich and dynamic, which already makes you want to immerse yourself in the open city of Metropolis.

However, the developers may not have told us everything about how this works. Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. While everyone imagined that it would be a title with a single player campaign possibly playable up to 4 in cooperation, the title could have more the appearance of game as a service

A screenshot that would come from the alpha currently being tested by some players has just leaked on the Web, revealing menus that reveal several surprising mechanics. The image shows the presence of a tab dedicated to the customization of the skills of the villains according to their level and another devoted to the customization of appearances. There is also a tab called Codex, certainly to consult information on the universe, and one dedicated to the options. Those which caught the attention of the players are however called store and Battlepasssuggesting the presence of paid cosmetic elements and objects to be unlocked only via a pass which is also payable…

The rest of the screen also shows the possibility of select a level to play together (as the Chapter 3: Worst Laid Plans where we should kill Flash), or to choose your game mode, the difficulty and the options of matchmaking. Does this mean that there would be no open world, but well-chaptered and hermetic levels, playable in solo with bots or in cooperation and which would be infinitely replayable to improve our heroes? With free and paid content regularly added to keep the experience and the community alive? Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League would he therefore only be a look-alike of the decried Marvel’s Avengers rather than the hoped-for spiritual sequel of batman arkham ?

You will have to wait until Rocksteady communicates more about it to find out, especially since the visual could very well be a fake. But a few months before the release date of May 26, 2023 on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X | S, these revelations on the very concept of the game would be disappointing… In the meantime, Gotham Knights is it available from €44.99 on Amazon.co.uk.

Update : a source confirmed to VGC that the Battlepass would be real, but would only be dedicated to unlocking cosmetic content.
