RUMOR UPDATE on Roller Champions: Ubisoft already plans to close the servers

Ubisoft will take a long time to give birth Roller Champions : announced in 2019, it chained the test phases and postponements, to land only last May. The Season 1 officially started in June and the developers are logically preparing additional content for the free-to-play.

But according to Jeff Grubb, the adventure may not last very long. The often very well-informed journalist said on the last podcast of Xbox Era that a trusted source told him that Roller Champions would stop after his Season 3. However, the publisher assured in its last financial statement that it was getting off to a better start than Hyperscapealso arrested after his Season 3 and a status quo for several months.

He would still not perform well enough and Ubisoft would therefore not have confidence in him to give a boost afterwards. It could also be that the publisher has already made progress on the development of future new features and would thus like to deliver them to allow the community to have fun before already closing the servers in the coming months… If that’s If so, it makes you wonder if the promised iOS and Android versions will see the light of day.

If the news is confirmed, it would show thatUbisoft is having a hard time giving birth free-to-play which holds the road: between the stop ofHyperscapethe cancellation of Ghost Recon Frontline and XDefiant which is also slow to materialize, the failures seem to follow one another.

Update : Ubisoft responded by stating that he had no plans to cancel Roller Champions for the moment. On the other hand, it will lengthen the Season 1 to take the time to respond to technical concerns raised by the community.
