Serious rape allegations have been made against British comedian Russell Brand. An explosive interview by ex Katy Perry now appears in a new light.
Comedian Russell Brand, 48, doesn’t have much to laugh about these days. Bad accusations were made against the Briton. Four women accuse him of rape, sexual assault and emotional abuse. The crimes allegedly took place between 2006 and 2013, as The Sunday Times wrote.
Bad allegations against Russell Brand
The moderator himself vehemently denies the allegations and only admits that he was very promiscuous. He goes on to say that during this time, “the relationships I had were absolutely and always consensual.” He therefore strictly rejects the claims, but an interview that his former wife Katy Perry, 38, gave after their separation now appears in a completely different light.
Russell Brand was in a relationship with the American singer from 2009 and was married to her from 2010 to 2012, but they separated again in 2011 just 14 months after their lavish wedding in India on October 23, 2010. The comedian is said to have written her a message on New Year’s Eve and broke up with it.
Brand then married author Laura Gallacher, 36, in 2017, with whom he is currently expecting their third child.
Katy Perry: Russell Brand wanted to “control” her
In a 2013 interview with Vogue, the singer suggested that her ex had a power issue, wanted to “control” her and she spoke about her “really hurtful” marriage. “When I met him, at first he wanted someone on an equal level. I think a lot of times strong men want someone on an equal level, but then they get this equal person and say, ‘I can’t handle that,'” she recalled of their relationship , for whose end she initially felt responsible – until she found out “the whole truth” about her ex. These are words that could hardly be more explosive given the current allegations.
She said more specifically about her divorce in the “Vogue” interview: “I felt very responsible for it ending, but then I found out the whole truth, which I can’t necessarily reveal,” she said, ultimately closing her personal Peace with the end of the marriage: “I let go and thought: ‘It’s not me; this is far beyond me.’ So I’m done with it.”

Katy Perry went on to address Russell Brand’s power problem – after all, she is a celebrated pop star and a serious businesswoman. “He didn’t like that I was the boss on tour. It was really hurtful and very controlling, which was worrying.”
Apparently Katy Perry and Russell Brand had a toxic relationship that thankfully came to an end. The singer has now found her partner for life with actor Orlando Bloom, 46, and the two welcomed their daughter Daisy Dove into the world in August 2020.
