Russia on Monday (August 1) banned 39 additional British personalities from entering its territory, including Labor opposition leader Keir Starmer and former Prime Minister David Cameron, in response to sanctions against the offensive in Ukraine. .
This new list, published on the website of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, includes politicians, journalists and entrepreneurs. Among them are Labor MPs Keir Starmer, David Lammy, Lisa Nandy, as well as Scottish politicians and journalists from the BBC and major British newspapers.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, those sanctioned “contribute to London’s hostile policy aimed at demonizing our country and isolating it on the international stage“. “Britain’s harmful acts of stoking Russophobia, spreading false information about our country and supporting the neo-Nazi regime in Kyiv will lead to a firm and adequate response from the Russian side“added the ministry.
Now, more than 250 British personalities, including Boris Johnson, are officially barred from entering Russian territory. Moscow launched a military offensive in Ukraine on February 24. This assault provoked unprecedented Western sanctions against Russia, which retaliated with similar measures.
