Russia doesn’t want ‘hostile’ countries at BRICS summit

MOSCOW, June 22 (Reuters) – The presence at a BRICS summit of a leader with a “hostile” policy towards Russia would be inappropriate, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said on Thursday, quoted by the RIA agency.

During a visit this week to South Africa, French Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna confirmed that French President Emmanuel Macron “considers if an invitation is extended to him” to participate in the next BRICS summit, group bringing together Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, to be held in August in Johannesburg.
