Russia launches terror investigation into pipeline leaks

In the dispute over arms deliveries to Ukraine, the Bundestag has rejected an extensive list of demands from the CDU and CSU. With the votes of all other parliamentary groups, the Berlin parliament voted on Wednesday against a Union proposal to “immediately and noticeably intensify the quantity and quality of German support”.
SPD MP Ralf Stegner described the application as superfluous and referred to the weapons already delivered to Ukraine. The accusation that the traffic light coalition is acting too hesitantly “is simply wrong and will not improve with repetition,” emphasized Stegner. Union parliamentary group leader Johann Wadephul (CDU), on the other hand, complained that no main battle tanks and infantry fighting vehicles were delivered to this day. Germany must play a leading role among its European partners, but the federal government is also failing here, criticized Wadephul.

Ukraine, which was attacked by Russia, has repeatedly demanded main battle tanks and armored personnel carriers from Western countries. So far, however, no NATO country has delivered Western-style battle tanks, and Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) insists that Germany will not go it alone on this issue.
