MOSCOW (Reuters) – Several attacks in the Russian regions of Belgorod, Kursk and the city of Donetsk left several dead and dozens injured, local authorities announced on Saturday.
Three civilians were killed and eight were injured in a Ukrainian missile attack targeting a restaurant in the city of Donetsk, pro-Russian leader Denis Pushilin said on Telegram.
Donetsk came under the control of pro-Russian separatists in 2015 and remains the regular target of Ukrainian bombings.
Belgorod region governor Vyacheslav Gladkov said in a statement posted on Telegram that one man was killed and another injured after a Ukrainian drone strike targeted a parked truck.
Later in the day, he announced that a woman had been killed and 29 people injured, including a child, in shelling by Ukrainian armed forces.
His counterpart in the Kursk region, Roman Starovoit, announced the death of a civilian hit by a drone attack in the town of Sudzha.
Both Belgorod and Kursk have been the subject of regular attacks since the start of the conflict.
Furthermore, the Russian Defense Ministry declared on Saturday that it had foiled Ukrainian attacks on its territory.
Russian forces shot down 21 rockets and 16 drones over the Belgorod, Kursk and Volgograd regions, according to a statement posted on Telegram.
