(Reuters) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko agreed on Friday that Moscow would supply its neighbor with the most sophisticated military equipment in the near future, the official Belarusian Belta news agency reported.

During a meeting in the Kremlin, the two leaders also agreed to jointly take measures to protect their countries against Western sanctions, particularly on energy prices.

Belta did not provide further details.
