UNITED NATIONS, Feb 25 (Reuters) – Russia on Friday vetoed a draft UN Security Council resolution that would have deplored the invasion of Ukraine, while China abstained in the vote , a move seen by Westerners as the symbol of Moscow’s isolation on the international stage.
Eleven of the fifteen members of the Security Council voted in favor of the adoption of the draft resolution, presented by the United States. The United Arab Emirates and India abstained. (Report Michelle Nichols; French version Jean Terzian)
