Three months after the start of the conflict in Ukraine, the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo publishes Ukrainian caricatures in its columns. About twenty Ukrainian drawings can be seen in this week’s issue. Charlie Hebdo will pay for the occasion, the association of cartoonists of Odessa.

The war in Ukraine continues. The conflict, which began three months ago, continues to mark the Ukrainian landscape for a long time. Nearly a third of Ukraine’s population has been displaced since the start of the war. To underline the courage of the local populations, the satirical newspaper Charlie Hebdo publishes the drawings of Ukrainian cartoonists, who continue to work in their country at war. In total, about twenty caricatures are published.

Export Ukrainian humor

This initiative thus makes it possible to export Ukrainian humor beyond its borders and to submit it to the eyes of the French. A humor that largely makes fun of Russians. For the occasion, Charlie Hebdo will pay the association of cartoonists of Odessa. The latter is currently organizing an exhibition in the Ukrainian city. This is where the cartoons published in the newspaper come from.

The drawings can be found in this week’s Charlie Hebdo, which appeared on newsstands yesterday.
