Set colleague publishes the last photo before the fatal shot

An employee at the “Rust” set shows the last photo before the fatal shot and raises allegations. He was holding Halyna Hutchins when she died.
A colleague of the late Halyna Hutchins shared a photo of one of the last moments of the 42-year-old camerawoman on the “Rust” set on social media before she was fatally shot by Alec Baldwin, 63.
Serge Svetnoy worked as a technician on the set of the western. He posted on October 22nd Photo on Facebook, which he described as “the last photo with Halyna on the set”.
The photo appears to have been taken inside the small church at the New Mexico film ranch. In the picture, several crew members stand around the costumed lead actor Baldwin while a cameraman sets up his recording. Hutchins can be seen in the back of the group wearing a headset. She faces Baldwin with her back to the person who took the picture.
It’s unclear how long before the fatal shootout the photo was taken.
Serge Svetnoy mourns a “friend”
Svetnoy wrote earlier this week in his emotional Instagram postthat he was standing next to Hutchins when she was shot dead by Baldwin on the set of the film on Thursday (October 21).
In a detailed report entitled “My vision of the RUST tragedy”, Svetnoy wrote that he was “very grateful for everyone” who turned to him with “words of support and condolences”. He stated that he worked with Hutchins on “almost all of their films” and considers her a friend.
“Yes, I was standing shoulder to shoulder with Halyna when the fatal shot was fired that took the life of her and director Joel Souza [48] injured. I held her in my arms when she was dying. Her blood was on my hands, “he said.” I want to give my opinion on why this happened. I think I have a right to do that, “he said in his post.
“It’s the fault of negligence and unprofessionalism,” wrote Swetnoy. “The person who was supposed to check the weapon on the premises did not do this; the person who should have said that the loaded weapon was on the premises did not do so; the person who should have checked this weapon, before she was brought to the set she didn’t. And human death is the result! “
Police investigations are still ongoing
The police have not confirmed the allegations that Swetnoy made in his contribution, and there has so far been no official finding of negligence.
New Mexico authorities are investigating the death of the camerawoman Baldwin shot while rehearsing a scene. Director Joel Souza was also injured in the incident but was discharged from hospital the next day.
