Actor performs his “Barbie” hit at the Oscars

Ryan Gosling will reportedly perform his Oscar-nominated song “I’m Just Ken” from the film “Barbie” at the Academy Awards.
Last year, the blockbuster “Barbie” attracted more people to the cinemas than any other film. He was even more shocked Ryan Gosling (43) at the end of January about the fact that the leading actress Margot Robbie (33) and the director Greta Gerwig (43) were not nominated for an Oscar by the US Film Academy for this year’s Academy Awards.
“There is no Ken without Barbie”
Gosling, who was nominated for best supporting actor for his portrayal of Ken, defended his snubbed colleagues in a statement, writing: “There is no Ken without Barbie, and there is no Barbie movie without Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie, the two main people responsible for this historic, globally acclaimed film. Without their talent, courage and genius, none of us would have received recognition for this film.”
After the scandal, it seemed questionable whether the actor would bring the song “I’m Just Ken” he performed in the film on stage at the awards ceremony or whether he would boycott the event in solidarity with his colleagues who were left empty-handed. “I’m Just Ken” is one of two “Barbie” songs to receive an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.
Singing performance at Oscars confirmed
Current reportsAccording to inside sources, Ryan Gosling has now confirmed that despite the controversy, Ryan Gosling will grace the awards ceremony on March 10 with a singing performance. Just a few weeks ago, the Hollywood star was extremely skeptical and in one Interview with Variety explains: “It might be too much of a risk to let me do that. I don’t know how that would work. But I’m open to it.”
