Ryan Kiera Armstrong will follow in the footsteps of Drew Barrymore in the remake of the Stephen King book “Feuerkind”.
The remake of the Stephen King classic “Fire Child” has found its leading actress. The young actress Ryan Kiera Armstrong will play the young Charlie, who develops psychic powers. The industry magazine “Deadline” reports. The eleven-year-old follows in the footsteps of Drew Barrymore (46), who played the leading role in the first film adaptation with the name “The Fire Devil” in 1984. For Barrymore it was the second big role after “ET – The Extra-Terrestrial”.
The book “Feuerkind”, on which both films are based, is about the girl Charlie who one day develops kinetic powers and can thus see into the future and start a fire. When a secret government agency learns of these skills, she wants to use the girl for experiments.
In addition to Armstrong, Zac Efron (33) as Charlie’s father Andy McGeeund and Michael Greyeyes (53) as the merciless agent will also be part of the remake. Ryan Kiera Armstrong has a lot of experience in the horror film genre. She previously starred in “It – Chapter 2” and the series “American Horror Story”. The shooting of “Feuerkind” has already started.
