The names allude, among other things, to his football club Wrexham: Ryan Reynolds secures trademark rights to beer types.

Ryan Reynolds (46) is now said to be investing in beer. According to the British newspaper “The Mirror”, the enterprising Hollywood star has secured rights for various brand names. The names of the brands allude to Wrexham, among other things. Ryan Reynolds bought the Welsh football club together with fellow actor Rob McElhenney (46) in 2020. Last season the club was promoted to the fourth tier of the British league.

With the documentary “Welcome to Wrexham” Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney increased the value of the club as a brand. Now they apparently want to benefit from it with beers. A brand name that the duo secured is therefore “It’s Always Sunny in Wrexham”. A nod not only to the club, but also to McElhenney’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia series. The other names are “R&R Lager”, after the cast members’ initials. “Max Effort Lager” alludes to Reynolds’ production company, Maximum Effort.

Gin, Cellular and Formula 1: Ryan Reynolds’ Investments

The beer endeavors aren’t Ryan Reynolds’ first forays into the alcohol business. The “Deadpool” star owned the gin brand Aviation Gin. In 2020, he sold it to liquor company Diageo for $610 million.

Besides football and drinks, Ryan Reynolds has invested in other businesses. In 2019 he allegedly secured 25 percent of the mobile phone company Mint Mobile. In March 2023, T-Mobile bought the company for $1.35 billion. Only recently he acquired shares in the Formula 1 racing team Alpine Racing with the investment company Maximum Effort Investments. The US-Canadian’s fortune is said to be over $350 million.
