His career has not been easy. After supporting roles in Hillside and The Fantasy Odyssey, Reynolds really launched his career with the ABC sitcom A Roof For Three, in which he starred for 4 seasons and 81 episodes.

He goes on with several feature films (including American Party or In any event), but the success is not at the rendezvous. Only Blade: Trinity, in which he plays detective Hannibal King, is considered a success, but more because the franchise was established than because of Reynolds’ presence.

The second part of the 2000s was made up of ups and downs in terms of box office, with some great successes such as Amityville (2005), The Proposal (2009) and X-Men Origins: Wolverine (2009) despite rather negative reviews and a fairly haphazard depiction of Deadpool.

Then, Reynolds turns in a blockbuster which will be decisive for the rest of his career: Green Lantern, adapted from the DC Comics universe. In addition to wiping bad reviews, the film does not bring in the expected money at all, and the actor finds himself at rock bottom. In spite of the interesting Buried, the films which it turns then work but its dimension does not really go up in Hollywood.

At that time, he attempted different films such as The Voices, Captives or La Femme au tableau, but only really returned to the top of his career after Deadpool, a project he was able to launch by finding a tone that suited him, and screenwriters who highlight it (Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick).

Since then, Reynolds has chained blockbusters at a frantic pace, often in the register of comedy and action, such as Free Guy, Red Notice, Hitman & Bodyguard or 6 Underground.
