Ryanair: 52% increase in passenger traffic in August

(CercleFinance.com) – Ryanair reported on Friday passenger traffic up 52% for the month of August, driven by the resumption of air transport against a backdrop of easing travel restrictions.

The Irish low-cost carrier said in a financial notice that it carried 16.9 million passengers last month, compared with 11.1 million in the same month of 2021.

The load factor of its aircraft – which corresponds to the filling rate of its aircraft – improved by 14 points, from 82% in August 2021 to 96% in August 2022.

Ryanair – which says it operated more than 92,800 flights in the last month alone – has seen its passenger traffic improve steadily in recent months, a favorable dynamic that analysts explain by the group’s decision to retain its staff during the pandemic, which enabled it to be operational as soon as traffic resumed.

Now listed on Euronext Dublin, the title Ryanait rose 0.8% on Friday following these announcements.
