Ryanair: will reduce its flights to Portugal in 2024

(CercleFinance.com) – Ryanair will reduce its air transport to Madeira and will reduce traffic in Faro and Porto from 2024.

This follows the decision of the ANA which increases airport taxes up to 17% from 2024 and in particular in Lisbon (+17%), Faro (+12%), Porto (+11%), Azores (+9%) and Madeira (+6%).

‘These excessive increases in the French-owned airport monopoly, ANA, are harming tourism and business in Portugal, particularly in the island economies of Madeira and the Azores,’ the group said.

‘In Lisbon, passenger taxes have increased by +50% since 2019, and most European airports have reduced their taxes based on Covid,’ adds Raynair.
