Sabrina Lange: Ex "Big Brother" star has to register as unemployed

In view of the Corona crisis, many Germans are worried about their existence. Celebrities are no exception, among them ex "Big Brother" star Sabrina Lange (52). "I had to register as unemployed on Friday and apply for support. I don't know how to pay my rent in the coming months," explains the 52-year-old spot on news.

All dates have been canceled

"I don't smoke, I don't drink alcohol, I don't eat meat and I don't like expensive luxury goods, I've never been." But the money is not even enough for normal life. "I lost all orders, all events for which I was booked were canceled until August." These include live performances, events, trade fairs and many TV productions that are no longer allowed to be recorded with guests.

A few weeks ago, Lange would have been optimistic about the future. Thanks to her participation in the RTL show "Summer House of the Stars" last year, she was able to pay off a large part of her debts. The 52-year-old had her own roofing company for twelve years before her "Big Brother" career. But after an accident, she slipped into the debt trap.

No shame in accepting help

The trip to the employment office was extremely difficult for her. "I struggled with myself, you feel ashamed and feel like a failure. But we can't think like that," explains Lange. It was very important to admit to yourself when it was no longer possible. With her story she also wanted to encourage other people.

There is no shame in accepting help. Many, whether prominent or not, would lose their jobs due to the pandemic. "We are all affected and I am very happy that the state wants to support us. We have to accept this help in order not to lose our home and to be able to return to work happily after the crisis." But now it’s time to stay at home. "The most important thing is that we all stay healthy and the sick get well."
