Good news: if you’re on macOS Ventura or macOS Monterey, you can already try out Safari 17 by following these steps to the letter:
- First, start by going to the developer website (via this link) and register your Apple ID there.
- In the “Apple Developer Login” section, enter your username and password, then enter the two-factor authentication code.
- Now go to the Safari 17 Beta download page.
- After clicking “Show Details” in Safari 17, follow the on-screen prompts and download the appropriate package for your version of macOS.
- Finalize the installation by double-clicking on the package once the download is complete.
What’s new for Safari 17?
Currently, many new features have been unearthed in Safari 17, starting with the arrival of a locked private browsing system. This will allow your unused windows to lock automatically, requiring authentication via Touch ID or password (in private browsing). Another (handy) option will allow single-use codes you receive through the Mail app to autofill in Safari.
