Both macOS Monterey 12.2 and iOS 15.3 updates have been released in beta. These new versions will mainly focus on « bug fixes and security updates“. That’s all the patch notes tell us for now.

This being so, according to Mac Rumors , the main novelty could be to solve a big problem with Safari, which appeared last week. As a reminder, this is a browser bug detected by FingerprintJS which allows you to extract your Google identifiers from your history.

9to5Macchecked if the bug still existed after installing iOS 15.3 for example, and the site no longer found any trace of it. We would therefore be moving towards a viable solution.

Provisional solution

If you don’t want to install these betas, but would still like to avoid the risk that the Safari bug may pose, Apple has released a patch on GitHub. However, this is a temporary solution that requires a certain technical level.

Updates should be available to all users by next week.
