Safran: AACC signs a partnership with Safran to expand its maintenance, overhaul and repair (MRO) capabilities on aircraft and helicopter undercarriages

World Defense Show, Riyadh, March 7, 2022

The Saudi Aircraft Accessories and Components Company (AACC), a subsidiary of the Saudi Arabian Military Industries (SAMI) Group, has signed a four-year partnership agreement with Safran Landing Systems to improve its skills in maintenance, overhaul and repair (MRO) and be able to operate on the landing gear of commercial aircraft and military helicopters of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
As one of the largest service providers in the Middle East, AACC already offers maintenance services on the landing gear of F-15, C-130 and Typhoon military aircraft. Thanks to this partnership with Safran Landing Systems, AACC will benefit from a significant reinforcement of MRO skills in the Gulf region.

Eng. Walid Abukhaled, President of SAMI: “The diversification of our maintenance, overhaul and repair capabilities, on the landing gear of commercial aircraft and military helicopters, marks a major step in our joint efforts to contribute to achieving the objective of the Kingdom to localize 50% of its military expenditure by 2030. We are delighted that this partnership with Safran opens the way to a transfer of technology and know-how, and allows the creation of local jobs, while contributing to Saudi Vision 2030.”

Cédric Goubet, President of Safran Landing Systems: “We are delighted to have been selected by SAMI / AACC to expand maintenance capabilities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and to include it in the global network of MRO partners of Safran Landing Systems. This collaboration strengthens our presence in the Persian Gulf region. These new services that AACC is preparing to add to its portfolio will allow airlines in the region to find maintenance and repair solutions close to their bases. We look forward to starting this collaboration between the AACC teams and those of Safran Landing Systems. »

Beyond AACC, this partnership will contribute to developing the MRO skills and knowledge of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and will lead to the creation of new Saudi jobs as well as additional activities in France and the United Kingdom.

This contract will also benefit from the Landing LifeTM support and services offer, which brings together all of Safran Landing Systems’ after-sales activities and aims to provide responsive, reliable service at a fair cost.
