Safran: Air Cairo signs a services contract with CFM

(CercleFinance.com) – Safran announces that Air Cairo, a subsidiary of Egyptair, has signed a non-exclusive multi-year services agreement with CFM International (joint venture between General Electric and Safran Aircraft Engines), to cover shop visits for the 28 LEAP engines equipping the 14 Airbus A320neo currently operated by the company.

Air Cairo became a CFM customer in 2005 when it first ordered CFM56-5B engines to power 6 A320ceo family aircraft. The airline currently operates 8 aircraft of this model.

“Strengthening our relationship with CFM constitutes a key step in our development strategy,” said Hussein Sherif Fahmi, Chairman and CEO of Air Cairo. This agreement reflects our commitment to innovation, customer satisfaction and more sustainable air travel through the efficiency of the LEAP engine. ‘
