Safran: expands its partnership in India with HAL – 10/27/2023 at 3:15 p.m.


(CercleFinance.com) – Safran announced yesterday the signing of an MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) between Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), Indian aviation leader, and Safran Aircraft Engines, with the aim of developing a cooperation program industrial in the forging of parts for civil engines.

Under the terms of the agreement, HAL will produce LEAP engine parts for Safran Aircraft Engines at its Bangalore facility to support the Indian government’s ‘Make in India’ policy and the unprecedented ramp-up of the LEAP engine. .

Safran aims to develop a complete industrial ecosystem in India.

The Group already has three production sites in the country (in Hyderabad and Bangalore) which will be supplemented by a fourth site in Hyderabad in 2025, dedicated to LEAP maintenance.

A 5th site dedicated to helicopter engine maintenance should also be operational in Goa, from 2025.
