Safran: Nacelles delivers the 200th nacelle for the Airbus A330neo

The 200e Airbus A330neo nacelle intended for the airline Virgin Atlantic has just been delivered by Safran Nacelles, thus marking a new milestone for this very large engine component for which Safran Nacelles has full responsibility, from its design to its integration, as well as than its in-service support.

This delivery marks the resumption of long-haul nacelle production rates for Safran Nacelles. This milestone comes after delivering the 100e nacelle in September 2019 and having weathered the Covid-19 crisis.

The A330neo nacelles benefit from the know-how of Safran Nacelles: it is aerodynamic and light thanks to the use of composite materials. It also reduces engine noise thanks to better acoustic treatment.

With an external diameter of 3.65 metres, the nacelle of the A330neo is as wide as that of the A380, the double-deck four-jet engine for which Safran Nacelles has total responsibility, from the development of the nacelle to its integration and now provides after-sales support.

The delivery of our 200e nacelle is a sign of the resumption of production rates on long-haul nacelles. The teams are now proud to see this product coming out of our factories, which has been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. This step demonstrates our commitment and our desire to position ourselves in this market segment. Airbus and airlines can count on Safran Nacelles to support them in the recovery. said Vincent Caro, Chairman of Safran Nacelles.
