(Boursier.com) — The 200th basket of theAirbus A330neo destined for the airline Virgin Atlantic has just been delivered by Saffron Nacelles, thus marking a new milestone for this very large engine component for which Safran Nacelles has full responsibility, from its design to its integration, as well as its in-service support.
With an external diameter of 3.65 metres, the nacelle of the A330neo is as wide as that of the A380, the double-deck four-jet engine for which Safran Nacelles has total responsibility, from the development of the nacelle to its integration and now provides after-sales support.
This delivery marks the resumption of long-haul nacelle production rates for Safran Nacelles. This milestone comes after delivering the 100th nacelle in September 2019 and having weathered the Covid-19 crisis. “The delivery of our 200th nacelle is a sign of the resumption of production rates on long-haul nacelles. Today, the teams are proud to see this product leaving our factories, which has been impacted by the Covid-19 crisis. 19.
