Saint-Etienne: an SNCF agent tastes a mysterious drink forgotten in the station, he dies instantly

Saint-Etienne station was the scene of a real mystery drama. This Monday, April 3, like every day, many travelers were in the aisles and on the platforms of the Châteaucreux station, the one that serves this city in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. Like every day too, security guards and SNCF employees were doing their job when a tragedy took place. According to information from RTL indeed, one of them died suddenly. At the end of the day, train users went to seek SNCF agents to tell them of their concern.

Several people had just discovered a strange plastic bag. In this one ? “Two cubitainers of an unknown substance”, write our colleagues. Faced with this surprising drink, two agents decided to take their courage in both hands and taste it. If one of them contented himself with soaking his lips in the beverage, his colleague took a whole sip without knowing that it would be fatal to him. Because only fifteen minutes after drinking from a cubitainer, he indeed felt severe pain and was “seized with convulsions, vomiting, and lost consciousness”. Called on the spot by travelers who witnessed this tragedy, the emergency services could do nothing to save him.

An investigation has been opened

The SNCF agent died instantly, still according to information from our colleagues. His colleague, who had contented himself with dipping his lips in this liquid, was transported to the hospital for more safety. According to RTL, it “did not feel any discomfort”, unlike the unfortunate who died instantly. To shed light on this tragedy, an investigation has been opened by the Saint-Etienne prosecutor’s office. “for investigation of the causes of death”. At the same time, analyzes are in progress “to determine the nature of this liquid”. It should be noted that several tests carried out, nuclear, radiological and chemical, came back negative.
