(CercleFinance.com) – Saint-Gobain announces a collaboration with AGC for the design of a pilot line for manufacturing flat glass, a breakthrough innovation that should significantly reduce direct CO2 emissions.
An AGC printed glass production line in Barevka, Czechia, will be completely renovated and converted into a high-performance, state-of-the-art line, powered 50% by electricity and 50% by a combination of oxygen and gas .
This new technology should be implemented and operational by the second half of 2024. It will pave the way for the conversion of flat glass production lines to be powered mainly with low-carbon electricity.
