(CercleFinance.com) – Saint-Gobain receives the 2022 Better Project award from the US Department of Energy for the installation of recycling technology in its plasterboard plant in Silver Grove, Kentucky.
Saint-Gobain, through its building products subsidiary CertainTeed LLC, received the 2022 Better Project Award from the US Department of Energy yesterday.
CertainTeed’s Silver Grove plant is the largest wallboard plant in North America and one of the largest in the world.
The recycling project announced in December will see the mill recycle and reuse 15,000 tonnes of paper a year that would otherwise have gone to landfill.
The new equipment was installed at Silver Grove just months after Saint-Gobain launched its new ‘Grow and Impact’ strategy, which plans to reduce waste and increase the circularity of raw materials at its production sites.
