With the HT-A7000, Sony is reinvesting in the high-end Dolby Atmos/DTS:X soundbar segment, which it had somewhat neglected in recent years. And it’s a comeback with a bang from the Japanese manufacturer.

Sony has not skimped on the means to make the HT-A7000 a very serious candidate for the title of absolute reference on the Dolby Atmos/DTS:X soundbar market (with the exception of the Sennheiser Ambeo Soundbar , standout). It impresses in particular with the breathtaking quality of its virtual, incredibly immersive spatialization – regardless of the acoustic characteristics of the listening room. On the other hand, we can still find a little better in terms of pure dynamics and explosiveness of the sound reproduction, especially on the side of the Samsung HW-Q900A. It is up to everyone to determine where they place their priorities.
Strong points
- Extremely convincing, enveloping and immersive virtual 7.1.2 spatialization.
- Highly effective automatic acoustic calibration.
- Very balanced and detailed sound.
- Accuracy of mids and highs, very musical.
- Manufacturing quality.
- Generous connectivity.
- HDMI 2.1 interfaces compatible with 4K 120Hz/8K 60Hz (but not VRR).
- Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, 360 Reality Audio compatibility.
Weak points
- Slight lack of sound foundation, and punch in the lower mids.
- The shiny black plastic on top of the bar, of questionable relevance.
- Complex user experience.

Yamaha signs a new success with this YSP-2700 soundbar. The manufacturer sublimates its YSP-2500 by further improving the sound reproduction and adding more features thanks to Wi-Fi and multi-room. The sound projection, still stunning, offers us an unparalleled immersive experience in the category of soundbars with a subwoofer. Too bad the Bluetooth integration was a bit sloppy.
