The Fujifilm Instax Mini 90 adopts a retro and vintage look which is clearly aimed at “Polaroid” fanatics. Above all, it offers more advanced modes than those of its little brothers (Instax Mini 8 and Mini 70), including a selfie, macro, landscape, flash and a self-timer mode. It is the only Instax Mini to include a rechargeable battery.

The Instax Mini 90 is the most advanced instant camera compatible with Instax Mini film. Its retro design, its ease of use and the advanced settings it offers are attractive. After a short learning period, it will become the ideal companion for photographing snapshots.

Is the LiPlay a perfect camera? No. It doesn’t get 5 stars because of its incomplete ergonomics and image quality that could be improved. It is nevertheless one of the most interesting cameras in the Instax range thanks to its instant camera and portable printer capabilities. In use, we found it very fun and efficient. The addition of sound is in our opinion a gimmick, but it may appeal to some users on occasion; and since its use is not mandatory, it is in our eyes neither a strong point nor a flaw. We find the camera more accomplished than the Canon Zoemini S sold at roughly the same price and we prefer the Instax rendering to that of the Zink. If you are just looking to make Instax prints, remember that the Instax Share SP-2 printer sells for almost half the price of the LiPlay.
