Earlier this year, Tesla broke its previous delivery record with lower prices on all its electric cars, and those price cuts allowed Elon Musk’s company to repeat that feat in the second quarter. Tesla delivered a record 466,140 new cars in the past three monthsthe company said in a statement, up 83.5% from a year earlier and up 10.2% from the 422,875 cars delivered in the quarter that ended in March.

As usual, Tesla delivered far more Model 3 and Y vehicles than the more expensive Model S and X vehicles. In total, Tesla delivered 460,211 Model 3 and Y and 19,489 Model S and X. The automaker also said 5% of its sales were subject to lease accounting. Thanks to these remarkable sales figures, the automaker can even boast of having exceeded Wall Street estimates, which expected sales of around 445,000 vehicles.

Sales also explode in France

With sales on the rise globally, it was also necessary to expand that Elon Musk’s electric cars are snapping up in France. According to figures from AAA Data, the Tesla Model Y and Tesla Model 3 largely dominate sales in our country.

The Tesla Model Y has unsurprisingly risen to the top of the ranking of the best-selling electric vehicles in France, with 4335 sales in June 2023 alone. As a reminder, Tesla’s compact SUV recently became the third best-selling car in the world, all engines combined, which had never happened for an electric vehicle.

The Tesla Model 3 is at 3966 units sold, far ahead of the Fiat 500, in third position with 2,781 units shipped. Thanks to the price reductions in recent months and the ecological bonus which is still applicable on the cheapest models, Tesla is truly crushing the competition in France.
