The actress Sally Ann Howes is dead. The star from films like “Anna Karenina” or “Tschitti Tschitti Bang Bang” was 91 years old.

British actress Sally Ann Howes has died at the age of 91. This is reported, among other things, by the newspaper “Mirror” citing the agent of the movie star. Howes was known for her role as Truly Scrumptious in the flick “Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng”, in which she shone alongside Dick Van Dyke (96).

For six decades, the actress celebrated success in theater, film and television. She started acting at the age of twelve. In 1943 she had her first leading role in the film “Thursday’s Child”. Another milestone in her career was the role of Eliza Doolittle in the Broadway production of the musical “My Fair Lady”, which she took on in 1958.

Her husband died shortly before her

In addition to her stage career, Sally Ann Howes appeared in films such as “Anna Karenina” (1948) or “Conditions like in Paradise” (1957) alongside “Tschitti Tschitti Bäng Bäng” (1968). On TV she appeared in the series “Kobra, take over” or “The people from the Shiloh Ranch”.

Since 1973 the actress was married to the literary agent Douglas Rae in their fourth marriage. According to media reports, he died in September. She had adopted the two sons of her second husband Richard Adler. She was married to him from 1958 to 1966.
