Salma Hayek wants to give the female breast a voice. In a new TV series she has produced, breasts should be able to speak.

Hollywood star Salma Hayek (54, "Lady Business") is working on a new and very funny TV project. With her production company Ventanarosa Productions, founded in 1998, she is developing a series about talking breasts for the streaming service HBO Max. The format is to be based on Leslie Lehr's book "A Boob's Life", which will be published on March 2nd.

Female breasts as a metaphor

"We are so grateful that HBO Max was empathetic and brave enough to develop this series with us," Hayek is quoted by the US industry website "Deadline". The TV adaptation is supposed to be about a new 40-year-old who is in the midst of a life crisis. The absurd: Suddenly her breasts start talking to her and move her to see her situation in a completely new light.

Hayek explains, "In 'A Boob's Life' we use breasts as a metaphor for the constant judgment women are subjected to, which creates a collective feeling that no matter what we do, we are never enough. On this show, we give the breast a voice that guides us through a woman's life from a unique perspective that we often do not dare to see. " A release date for the series is not yet known.
